Of course I did have to sneak in something new... a good friend of mine is pregnant so I wanted to make a baby quilt for her. She's decorating her nursery in purple... the one color I have almost nothing of in my stash! I thought I was going to have a real excuse to go fabric shopping but then I found this fabulous Jennifer Paganelli print hidden in my massive Sis Boom collection:-)
I wanted to keep it simple so I went with a disappearing 9 patch. Since I was was using yardage I could strip piece the blocks so they went together really quickly. It's so weird to cut up a perfectly good block you've just made!
It's another snow day while we try to dig out so my plan is to baste this and get back to quilting:-)
Quilting along with this week's W.i.P. Wednesday:-)
Enjoy your snow day! We just moved to Florida from Connecticut, and I have to say, I miss my snow (at least while it's still white and pretty)! Stuck in with two kids with the flu is as close as I'm going to get this year! Oh well!

Have fun with that snow. I love snow in the winter when I'm inside sewing because it makes the light in my sewing room so cheerful. Your disappearing 9 patch is adorable.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried that cutting a 9 patch in half and half again. I really like how it turns out....I will try to refrain from adding anything else to my UFO list for now though.
